I finished my pieces for the beading contest and got my entry sent off just in the nick of time. I’m not selling my contest pieces at the moment, but I plan to sell them once the contest is over, so please contact me if you’re interested in buying any of them.

O Happy Day!

I’m finally unsick! It’s time to par-tay! I can eat real food again! I am no longer limited to bowl after bowl of broth.

My cat Kess, just for fun:

Question of the Day: What’s your favorite non-sci-fi show?

Rock N’ Roll All Night

I’m up late again, sick. Not all that much fun. I’m taking vitamin C and zinc, and I’m hoping to get over it quickly. I’m wondering if I might have to cancel my appointments for the next couple days.

I have a ton of new jewelry designs in my head, but I haven’t had time to work on them yet, because I’ve been busy promoting Lava Jewelry. I’ll get to it as soon as I can. Making jewelry is the fun part!

Question of the Day: What’s your favorite season of Stargate SG-1?

Freddo Convert

I’ve finally seen the light: The Freddo is truly superior to the Frapuccino! Can I just say Scharffen Berger Chocolate? I’ll most likely be making quite a few appearances at Peet’s from now on.

Question of the Day: Is it possible to eat a 2-lb bag of cheese before it goes bad?

Canvassing

I’m up all night with a migraine. Again. I honestly don’t remember the last migraine-free day I had.

I put up flyers in San Francisco and Walnut Creek today, and I got to go to Herbivore in SF – they have the absolute best food! I also lost another game of Scrabble tonight. I’m definitely losing my Scrabble magic.

I plan to hit Berkeley next weekend. Like a tornado. Like a tornado with a migraine?

Question of the Day: How did my cat know to eat the most expensive beads I own? Are all cats gem appraisers?

Unsubscribe!

Does anyone know how I can unsubscribe from the Migraine-of-the-Day club? When I look back, I’m not really sure why I signed up in the first place. I keep trying to unsubscribe, but they keep sending me a new migraine every single day!

Question of the Day: Does anyone still buy DVD’s now that you can download just about anything from the internet?

August’s Birthstone: Peridot!

Lava Jewelry has many styles of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings featuring pretty green peridot, August’s birthstone. So don’t forget those August birthdays!

Peridot is a lime- to olive-green semi-precious gemstone that is a silicate mineral called olivine. Olivine is found as crystals in basaltic lava (like the lava in Hawaii).

From mineralminers.com: “Peridot is said to bring healing and vitality to the whole body. It is also said to increase patience, confidence and assertiveness. Peridot is said to help slow the aging process, and to aid in the treatment of digestive, heart, lung and eye disorders. It is also said to be helpfull in facilitating the birthing process. ”

Question of the Day: What is your absolute favorite silicate mineral, and why?
